Hi, I’m Yvette

Writer, Encourager, Motivator

Ladies, I know that we can make more income. I’ll share my story, but right up front. it’s important you know my ultimate goal.

I provide training and resources to help women develop their skills and get paid more. I’m here to break the barrier of women feeling

  • unseen

  • unheard

  • unsupported

We can live a fulfilled, God-centered, God-focused life where our God-sized dreams become reality.

How I Got Here

I’ve needed encouragement to keep moving forward, and I know many others who need the same.

My life has been and continues to be an inspiration to people…at least, that’s what I’m told. LOL

Let’s face it: life is hard. As much as I wish it weren’t the case, that’s the reality. So, what are we going to do about it?

Well, ladies, I choose to live a happy and abundant life.

God is my source; I Choose God, I Choose Us (hubby and me), and I Choose Me.

A Double Life

I’ve lived what sometimes feels like a double life.

As a career woman, I’m treated with respect in my profession. But it wasn’t always the case. I worked in 2 male-dominant industries: Software Engineering and Military Defense Contracting.

Despite these unique and influential opportunities, I was often treated as less than equal.

I’m a black, educated female. I can appear as opinionated when it comes to my profession. However, it’s more than my opinion; I’ve always felt an internal push to provide solutions for my team, the company, and our customers.

I understand the significance of the products we build and release for our U.S. Military.

I worked in Configuration Management and DevOps for over 20 years. I know my job pretty well at this point.

I won’t bore you with the details, but “back in the day,” it was hard to speak up for myself.

I hear others talk about this as well, that women struggle to express their voice or lack advocates within many companies.

I have worked for several mid to large-size companies because I stayed with the product we built & released. Unfortunately, I experienced several years of being looked over, treated as though I didn’t matter, and other degrading behavior.

I learned to stand up for myself and to push up other women and men in the workplace. I’ve had mentors, coaches, and leaders who helped me in my career. I, in turn, was committed to helping others excel in theirs.

Here’s the Double Life:

Early in my career, I felt led to start a women's group in our church.

It was a privilege to lead a fantastic group of ladies. The environment allowed the women to speak openly, freely, and honestly. I believe that’s the only way to live. It’s not about being rude; it is about having a voice. And that’s how I raised my four children.

I would listen to the ladies share the same sentiments I felt about work. They said things like:

  • Women aren't visible in the Bible.

  • They don't do much.

  • Men get all the credit.

Whether totally accurate or not, that’s how the women felt.

I endured similar feelings at work, and now, hearing this at church stirred me to find out if it was true.

I loved reading the Bible even as a child, and I didn't believe I was part of a faith that left women feeling the way I felt in my chosen career. There had to be more.

Here’s a Cubic LCS Video that talks about the product and the Team’s roles from development to release of the product.

I Found Out There was MORE…

The Influence of Your Voice

I started studying the details of women in the Bible to "help the ladies in our church.”

I found that women in the Bible faced specific situations, were treated in particular ways, and were recognized for good and bad interactions.

Women in the Bible did have a voice and were celebrated; however, people didn’t openly talk about these women and their contributions.

My heart was so stirred with emotion that I started teaching about women in the Bible.

Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I realized it was up to me to make these Biblical women's voices heard for our women's group.

I shared the triumphs, joys, and struggles of the women in the Bible.

It was clear that Jesus treated women differently and better.

You also have a voice, and I’d like to help you find and embrace it.

One such writing is about Miriam. Her story is available in eBook form.

Developing Self-Confidence

As I studied and taught, I embraced God’s Word for myself. Knowledge is power when appropriately applied. I learned how to find the gold in my career through those Biblical principles.

I taught at church and applied the principles of scripture to my profession. My confidence in my abilities at work increased. I started to show up at work with more clarity, solutions, and a more powerful but not loud voice.

I can help you do the same; gain self-confidence and become more applicable and feel relevant in different areas of your life.

Empowered for Increase

The men in the organizations started to push me up as an authority, and my career blossomed.

In fact, in 2003, I received a Women of Color Research Sciences & Technology Achievement Award (my last name was Rubin back then) because a male manager in the company nominated me.

That was unexpected and celebrated; I received an all-expenses paid trip from Arizona to Tennessee. Wow!

The days of unequal treatment ended. There was no more withholding the technical work from me, treating me as a secretary when I was in a technical role. Neither was I asked whether there was coffee anymore.

Today, in my technical career, I am a functional manager for my team, a leader of several aspects of projects, and a manager of the DevOps and Configuration Management teams.

As an entrepreneur, I help women find their voice and excel in their professional careers and entrepreneurial endeavors.

Women are powerful; we have a voice; we do not have to step outside our character to show it. We can be who we were created to be.

Today, I use my skills to help my clients experience personal, professional, and spiritual success! You can have a God-centered life and business and enjoy financial independence.

Success in Life and Business

I’ve had an amazing yet fairly difficult life, and still, I stand strong. It’s primarily because of my spiritual life.

Those early years made me who I am today. God has led me and guided me throughout my career and everyday life.

I want to share my faith with you. I believe you will find an extraordinary strength to succeed in life and business by the Grace of God.

Having experienced many people and cultures, I want to show you that you too can have an amazing life.

Here’s What I Do Today
